Your Hunting Heritage
On Nov. 4, Mississippians will have the opportunity to further protect our right to hunt and fish. A “YES” vote on Statewide Initiative Measure No. 1 will protect future generations of Mississippi hunters and anglers. Proposed by the Mississippi Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, Statewide Initiative Measure No. 1 would add protections for hunting and fishing into the State Constitution. Statewide Initiative Measure No. 1 specifies that hunting and fishing shall be a preferred means of managing and controlling wildlife. Additionally, Statewide Initiative Measure No. 1 would promote wildlife conservation and management of game species in Mississippi and constitutionally protect the American heritage of hunting, trapping and fishing for future generations.
